An Unsettling Time
As new life begins in a time of uncertainty, I reflect on the state of the Nation and how my children will be able to cope with the problems that are rising. Debt, war, bloodshed, and a seemingly non God-fearing nation. We are a nation "of the people, by the people and for the people." But I wonder why we, as the "people" don't have a say in any of the new bills and legislation that goes through congress. We have elected officials that we take risks on. We never really know what they are going to do once in power. We hope that they make decisions that will be the will of the people. But lately I can't help but feel that the ones that we have chosen don't have our best interests at heart. Have they simply filled us with hot air? Are they voting for the lobbyists? What is the state of this great Nation? I ask these rhetorically. I think, for the most part, that Americans are tired of the way this country is headed. I believe that this is the greatest nation of all that its people are the greatest that have ever been. I believe that it is time to stand for something. That we take back the Nation that belongs to the People! That we rise up to the challenges that face us and conquer them. I believe that this is "One Nation Under God, Indivisible. With Liberty and Justice for All."
